The Committee recommends that the State party take all measures necessary, including legislative amendments, to ensure that children of migrant workers, including children born to migrant workers in an irregular situation, are registered at birth and issued with personal identity documents, in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal target 16.9, and that it raise awareness of the importance of birth registration among migrant workers and members of their families.

In accordance with joint general comments No. 3 and No. 4 (2017) of the Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families/No. 22 and No. 23 (2017) of the Committee on the Rights of the Child on the human rights of children in the context of international migration, the Committee recommends that the State party:
(b) Ensure that all children in situations of migration and those affected by migration can enjoy the same rights as all other children, including those to birth registration, proof of identity and a nationality, and access to education, health care, housing and social protection;
